We’d love to work with you on your wedding or special event. Our process is pretty simply, shoot us an email at Diane@typeacatering.com or fill out our Contact Page. We will get in touch and schedule either an in-person or phone conversation.
Our consultations take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and we will talk about your vision for the event - to the style of service - to the color palette and general vibe you desire - to the overall timeline.
From there, we will write a proposal. We will include the food and beverage piece (and yes, we have a liquor license and are fully insured), to any rentals like linens, china, and glassware, to any equipment your event may require, to staff, and any other items that are unique to your event.
Assuming that our proposal works within your budget and you think you want to work with us, we require a $500 date deposit to guarantee the date (since we only take one full-service wedding on a day, occasionally we have multiple proposals out for the same date), and we schedule your tasting.
Following your tastings, once we have finalized your menu and details, we will write a contract. We require a 25% deposit less the date deposit with the contract, and a second 25% deposit is due 6 months prior to your event. Should your event be less than 6 months away, 50% less the date deposit is due with the contract.
About a month from your event, we will schedule a final meeting or phone call to verify the details for your event, and about 2 weeks from event, we will send your catering details as well as a request for your guest count, typically 8 days prior to your event.
Once we receive your final guest count, we will send an invoice for your balance which is due upon receipt.
